RV Dana is a multidisciplinary research vessel with ice class 1A super, equipped for biological, chemical, and physical oceanographic research e.g., on ocean-climate interactions. The vessel is also suitable for research on microbiology, marine geology, or living resources.

Facilities
Large wet lab with fish sorting system, Chemistry and water labs, Dry Lab, C14 lab, temperature controlled labs (range 1°-30°C). Freezers (Large 11m2 -20°C, tunnel freezer -28°C, -80°C) and refrigerators.
Services offered
The vessel is well-suited for multidisciplinary work in groups up to 25 scientists, with several spaces available for lab work and storage. The crew of the vessel is experienced in handling research equipment from various research groups in international collaborations.
What is included in the Access

Modalities of access offered: In-person access and remote access
All preparatory planning meetings to discuss details of logistics, packaging, equipment handling, and permissions of entering national waters are included. Price also includes harbour fees, food, fuel, communication fees and technician onboard. The typical duration of work is 7-21 days. RV Dana is scheduled a year in advance which allows flexible planning.
Availability for access in the TA Call 2024
Access to 8 working days for a user group of 8 members.Â
1st Jan 2026 onward, although depending on a negotiation and coordination with other commitments.
Common operation area Greenland and Nordic seas.
Time frame for access preparations
Planning is finalized during summer for activities the following year.Â
Permits, licenses and training
Research permits for activities outside of the Danish EEZ are applied for in collaboration with the scientists a year in advance.
Certification or training required from RI users:Â
Participants must have a valid STCW Personal Saftey, Survival and first-aid. (STCW table A-VI/1-1, 1-3, 1-4).Â
