POLARIN is an international network of polar research infrastructures and their services aiming at addressing the scientific challenges of the polar regions

POLARIN SERVICES

Transnational access (TA) to infrastructure

POLARIN provides integrated, challenge-driven, and combined access to Arctic and Antarctic infrastructures to facilitate interdisciplinary research on complex processes.

The second POLARIN Transnational Access Call opened on the 1st of September 2025. It’s now closed.

Virtual Access (VA) to Research Infrastructures

POLARIN offers online access to scientific data and metadata through a single-entry portal to 7 data infrastructures, 2 observational networks and 10 research stations and their associated observatories.

VA is accessible through the Data Hub.

Data Hub - Data Access and Services

POLARIN facilitates the discovery, exploration and integration of existing polar data, establishing a data hub and developing tools and services for intermediate and end-users (both experts and non-experts).

New training programmes

POLARIN develops training programmes to ensure that early career researchers, professionals and research infrastructure users are able to fully exploit the offered services.

GIS Platform for Polar Research Planning

POLARIN GIS provides a web-based tool for scientists to explore information about POLARIN research stations offering Transnational Access and Remote Access.
